Last week the Beast from the East hit the UK.
It dropped a tonne of snow in and around the Edinburgh area.
And closed schools all over the country.
My kids have been off school since Wednesday.
I’m hoping things will get back to normal tomorrow.
Because it’s starting to thaw and they can get back to school.
It’s Been Fun
When the snow started coming down on Tuesday, I suspected it might not last.
How wrong was I?
By the end of Wednesday we had several inches of snow.
My wife still had to go into work though because we live on site where she works.
The kids and I had fun building several snowmen.
It wasn’t the ideal snow for that; it was quite powdery.
But we managed to make something half decent between us.
And it’s only today that the final snowman has melted.
Now It’s Time For The Beast From The East To Move On
I dug the car out today as well as quite a bit of the car park.
It took over an hour to move all the snow.
And to get rid of it off the car too.
I hope that it doesn’t snow anymore overnight.
We were supposed to get our new dishwasher delivered today.
But because of the bad weather, they’ve had to cancel.
Now we’ll have to wait another week before it arrives.
The Beast from the East has got a lot to answer for.
There Was A Run On The Supermarket
I need to go grocery shopping tomorrow.
When my wife walked to the supermarket at the end of last week there was barely anything on the shelves.
People had been panic buying and there wasn’t much left for anyone else.
Things like bread and milk were in short supply.
I hope they’ve had a delivery over the last couple of days.
Or my trip to Tesco’s will be less than ideal.
How Has The Bad Weather Affected You?
Did you get snowed in over the past week?
Or were you one of the lucky ones and got very little snow?
